BIO (2022)

Neda Abghari, is a curator, consultant and cultural advocate native to Atlanta. Over the last two decades she has leveraged her experience in the arts, education, non-profit and real estate sectors to connect, engage and inform communities through the cultivation of strategic partnerships locally and nationally for the promotion of the Arts and social activism.

As a curator, she has produced numerous exhibitions and has placed dozens of artists nationwide with commercial brands including the likes of Cuervo 1800, Bloomingdales, AFROPUNK music festival, HULU and SCOPE International Contemporary Arts Fair.

Neda’s art consultation services create memorable environments and experiences through the selection, placement, and programming of original art. Neda is one of the few private consultants across the nation to combine a vast experience in original art curation, creative direction and community development programming to animate authentic art spaces and projects.

As a first generation Iranian-American, born and raised in the deep South, it is her nature to bring art and people together to celebrate the culture of the cities she and her clients love while also showcasing and elevating the voices of systematically minoritized and marginalized artists, organizations and communities.

Neda is an avid arts and culture advocate. In 2011, with the support of Atlanta's community at large, Neda founded The Creatives Project (TCP), and has since established it as Atlanta’s only affordable housing program dedicated to Atlanta’s creative community. During Neda's tenure through Sept 2021, she acquired and assigned over 50,000 sq/ft. of donated space annually to creatives in need in the form of housing, studio and exhibition space. These subsidies, totaling over 1M in rental savings, supported over 75 artists and nonprofits through spatial accommodations. Through this award-winning residency artists have volunteered over 9000 arts service hours to mentor over 900 youth and 150 senior citizens through customized arts and culture initiatives.

As a founding board member of ACT/ART, she worked in partnership with The Obama White House to bring contemporary art to the forefront of public policy. She is Atlanta’s first Arts and Culture leader to be invited to participate in the prestigious Marshall Memorial Fellowship, is a member of the Fulton County Public Art Committee, a founding member of The Atlanta School for the Arts and has participated in multiple panels and lectures for Modern Atlanta, The Georgia Department of Education, High Museum of Art, Emory University, The Atlanta Regional Commission and The White House.

Neda is a mother, a wife and an unstoppable breast cancer survivor.
